When we first met our client, back in October 2024, it was a “by chance” encounter in the gallery. Our client had embarked on a search for Coffee Tables. We chatted about the beautiful Ethnicraft pieces we had on the gallery floor and shared a mutual fondness for exceptional design, and quality.
As we were chatting, our client shared that they had almost finished their new build and were looking for some special pieces of furniture for their home.
This photo is from the build stage when we first met, looking out from their Kitchen.....
This photo captures the scale of the home beautifully, vast ceilings and open plan living...
As the clients were already working with an Interior Designer, we explained that our Design Service – Couture For Living - was a Furniture Package – and we can work alongside their Designer.
And that’s how we started working together……
We took an already tight brief on the design of the home, and together, we created beautiful pieces to complement the home and enhance the magnificent spaces.
We always begin our Design Service with a Mood Board, following our initial meeting.
One of the first things I ask a client is……
What would you like the aesthetic to be in your home?
The answer to this from our client was……
Earthy, Textured, Organic, Classic
There is one word missing from this initial aesthetic that just kept ringing home true for me, our client was exceptionally “elegant”. Elegant by nature, and elegant in style.
And that is a theme that continued throughout our discussions, and ultimately in furniture selections.
The initial concept that was created, looked like this....

We were starting to build a profile around the pieces our client would like to consider, some they would like to leave out, and what we could add in to create a completely unique space for their family.
We were engaged to design the Informal Living Area, and the Formal Living Area. Knowing that Molmic Sofas were made in Melbourne, our client valued the integrity of these Sofas and knew they would be perfect for their family life.
Fast forward to April 2025. We are so excited to share with you some photos of the home, now completed, with the beautiful furniture pieces that were carefully selected together for this family, to create lasting memories.
Informal Living Area
The Molmic Aston 2-Seater Sofas are upholstered in James Dunlop Omni Flax Fabric with a Timber Plinth in Nero Stain. The Aston Sofas are the most perfect Sofa for this space, creating warmth and texture. We selected the Nero Stain for the Timber Plinth at the base of the Sofas, as it is a soft, matte black to link back to other black pieces in the space, such as the fireplace.
The fabric for the upholstery was particularly important to our clients, as they wanted it to be a FibreGuard fabric. Here is a little bit of information on FibreGuard…..
“The yarn used in FibreGuard fabrics is coated during the finishing process, ensuring stain resistant properties that will last for the lifetime of the fabric.” Jamesdunloptextiles.com.au.
The rug that the Sofas sit upon is the Baya Nolan Rug in the colour Stone. I can’t tell you how luxe this rug feels, it is a combination of Bamboo Silk and Wool, adding warmth and texture to the space.
We just love how this space looks and feels when the fire is going, couldn’t you just snuggle up and read a book here?

Formal Living Area
Our client’s like to entertain, and this space is particularly important to them, offering their guests the ultimate in comfort and style. We love it when our clients have some favourite pieces that they would like us to work with, and the leather Sofa is a crowd favourite. It looks cosy and would no doubt have some beautiful memories to go with it.
Our clients had seen the Molmic Barker Sofa and had fallen in love with its subtle and elegant curves, knowing it would be a stunning addition to the Informal Living Area. Once again, the Barker Sofa had a Timber Plinth to work with, linking the Sofas and acting as a common thread to the Black Side Tables that our clients already had.
The fabric for the upholstery was another James Dunlop fabric, Supervio. This is a luxe, thick, matte velvet that has a touch of formality to sit right at home in this setting. A commercially rated fabric, that you guessed it, is also FibreGuard!
When all of the furniture was insitu, our client dropped into the gallery and fell in love with the Ethnicraft Spindle Bench Seat in Black Oak, and knew she had a perfect place for it. And here it sits, in the entry of the home, just as you open the door, and you get that feeling that you are stepping into a home that is.....
Earthy, Textured, Organic, Classic
And elegant!

We couldn’t be happier with our recent experience at Make Your House A Home! From the moment we walked in, we felt truly looked after. The range of beautiful, high-quality furniture speaks for itself, but it's the exceptional customer service that really sets MYHAH apart.
A heartfelt thank you to Marnie for her fantastic advice and impeccable taste - her suggestions of fabrics and styles were spot on and look amazing in our space. Jayda is also an absolute pleasure to deal with - friendly and helpful and goes out of her way to help you.
It's really worth a visit to Bendigo for the personalised service and stunning pieces that turn your house into a home.
It has been the most wonderful collaboration with our clients, working on this project together, sharing their vision and working to curate pieces that are in line with the way they want to live in their home, as a family.
We continue to work with our clients, as once you sign up to be a design client, you are a design client for life!
